Private Notes are like sticky notes. You can use them to make small quick notes about people, tasks, points etc. You can always revisit these notes at a later date. If you choose to make private notes about a user, then you can use them later on during a performance review to bolster your review. 

Alternatively, you can also share private notes with others. These notes will always be easily accessible to you.
