Site admins & users with the Gamification management permission now has an option to set the maximum monthly limit on discretionary points for users who have the ability to give discretionary points to others. It works like a monthly bucket of points that eventually gets emptied with the usage (by giving out points). This bucket gets renewed every month and doesn't carry forward the balance.

To set the limit please go to Settings --> Badges (Under Gamification section) --> Set the Monthly Limit

Some important points to remember:

1. This limit is applicable to all the users in the organization and you cannot set different limits for different users.

2. This is not a unified bucket for the whole organization, each user will have their own bucket and can see the balance points when they are awarding points to someone.

3. Once the bucket is empty the user is not allowed to award points any further points in that month and can only award points from the next month.
